On the 31st, China Electricity Council (hereinafter referred to as "China Electricity Council") released the analysis and prediction report on the national power supply and demand situation in the first half of the year. The analysis shows that the growth rate of power demand in the whole society has increased steadily in the second half of the year, and the growth rate will be about 6.5%. In addition, in view of the continued negative year-on-year growth of completed investment in hydropower, thermal power and nuclear power, China Power Union also proposes to increase the scale of power supply under construction.
According to the data released by the national energy administration, the power consumption of the whole society in the first half of this year was 2.63 trillion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%.
From the change of power consumption growth at the end of the month, the first and second quarters of this year increased by 5.4% and 5.2% respectively year-on-year; The monthly growth rate in the second quarter was 4.6%, 5.3% and 5.9% respectively, showing a monthly recovery trend. Ouyang Changyu, an expert of China electricity Union, said in an interview with the reporter of Shanghai Securities News that the above situation reflects the current macroeconomic stabilization, indicating that the central government has adhered to targeted regulation and control in recent months, and the effect of a series of policies and measures to stabilize growth has been obvious.
Given that China's economy is expected to maintain steady growth in the second half of the year, experts from China Power Council believe that the growth rate of power consumption will show a trend of low before high. It is estimated that the power consumption of the whole society in the whole year will be 5.63% to 5.69 trillion kwh, with a year-on-year increase of 5.5% to 6.5%, and it is expected to be 5.66 trillion kwh, with a year-on-year increase of about 6.0%; It is lower than the 6.5% to 7.5% forecast at the beginning of the year and the 7.5% growth level of last year.
Experts from China electricity union said that the power consumption of equipment manufacturing industry increased rapidly in the first half of the year, and the power consumption of the four high energy consuming industries maintained a low growth. The change of power consumption structure in manufacturing industry reflects the effect of macro-control policies such as national targeted regulation and control, actively resolving overcapacity in some industries and optimizing and adjusting industrial structure.
It is worth noting that in the first half of the year, the completed investment in power projects decreased by 6.1% year-on-year, of which the power supply decreased by 12.7% year-on-year and the power grid decreased slightly by 0.6% year-on-year. As a number of key projects such as Xiluodu in the southwest hydropower base have successively entered the production stage, the scale of hydropower under construction continues to shrink significantly. The investment completed in the first half of the year decreased by 35.0% year-on-year. The investment in nuclear power in the first half of the year also decreased by 9.3% year-on-year. In this regard, experts from the China Electricity Council believe that the insufficient scale of power supply under construction may lead to another shortage of power supply during the 13th Five Year Plan period. It is suggested to approve the commencement of a number of large-scale hydropower, nuclear power and other key power projects as soon as possible, speed up the construction of trans regional and trans provincial transmission channels, and approve the construction of large-scale wind power, solar energy bases and export channels of Southwest hydropower bases as soon as possible, Ensure that the new power supply is sent out in time and the excess capacity of the existing power supply is effectively absorbed.
