Composite insulator hydrophobicity live detector is based on the hydrophobicity detection technology water spray classification method recommended by IEC and proposed by Swedish Institute of transmission and distribution (stri). It is composed of electric water spray device, micro digital camera and hydrophobicity analysis software. The electric water spraying device is controlled by infrared remote control to spray water mist accurately and quantitatively on the insulator umbrella skirt according to the provisions of the water spraying classification method in the electric power industry standard (DL / T 864-2004); The high-definition hydrophobicity pictures of the umbrella skirt surface are obtained by digital camera and analyzed by hydrophobicity analysis software; Based on digital image processing technology, the software extracts the information entropy, seed rate, spectrum amplitude and other information of hydrophobicity picture, calculates the shape factor and area percentage of water droplets or water traces, objectively judges the hydrophobicity state of composite insulator, and finally determines the hydrophobicity level of insulator according to the grade feature description of hydrophobicity in industry standard DL / t810-2012.
